Wooden Playground FAQ: Balkan and International Projects
Practical answers about wooden playground safety, EN 1176, surfacing, installation, delivery and project planning across the Balkans, Europe and worldwide.
Common questions for Balkan playground projects
Myth 1: Wooden playgrounds cannot handle intensive outdoor use
Durability depends on timber preparation, surface protection, structural details, drainage, anchoring and regular inspection. Correctly specified outdoor timber can perform well in demanding hotel, school and residential projects.
Myth 2: The equipment alone determines playground safety
Safety also depends on correct assembly, clear fall zones, foundations, impact-attenuating surfacing and ongoing inspection. These items need to be planned as one system.
Myth 3: Ground preparation is always included
Not automatically. Excavation, concrete, drainage and final safety surfacing are included only when stated in the commercial scope. Responsibilities should be confirmed before installation.
Myth 4: One playground layout suits every site
Hotels, schools, restaurants and residential projects differ in size, child capacity, age range and site conditions. The equipment combination and safety zones should be adapted to the actual location.
Frequently asked questions
Where does Elysee serve projects from?
Elysee operates from its North Macedonia production, depot and sales office in Petrovec near Skopje. We coordinate playground projects in North Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania, Montenegro, Serbia and the wider Balkans, and evaluate project enquiries across Europe and worldwide. Transport and installation arrangements are confirmed for each location and project scope.
Do you manufacture wooden playgrounds?
Yes. Elysee works as a manufacturer and project supplier of natural wooden playground equipment and related outdoor solutions rather than as a general toy retailer.
What information do you need for a quotation?
Please send the location, available dimensions, expected number of children, age group and ground condition. A site photo or plan helps us prepare more accurate alternatives.
Do you work according to EN 1176?
Project planning takes EN 1176 playground safety requirements into account, including spacing, use zones and fall areas. Any tender requirement for model-specific certification or third-party documentation should be confirmed before order.
How should the ground be prepared?
The base must suit the foundations, drainage and selected safety surfacing. Where ground preparation is not included in our quotation, the client or site contractor is responsible for preparing it according to the approved layout.
How is safety surfacing selected?
The surfacing must correspond to the critical fall height and the selected equipment. Rubber tiles or other impact-attenuating systems can be used where required, with the final specification confirmed for the project.
Can projects be customised?
Yes. Equipment combinations can be adjusted to site dimensions, user capacity, age range and architectural or landscape requirements.
Do you deliver and install in Kosovo, Albania, Montenegro and Serbia?
Yes. Logistics and installation can be planned for Balkan projects according to location, site readiness and project size. Exact transport and installation terms are stated in the quotation.
Do you sell through a representative in Kosovo?
Projects are handled directly through Elysee. This allows product, commercial and technical communication to remain directly connected to the production and project team.
Can you support hotels, schools and construction companies?
Yes. We prepare project-specific playground solutions for hotels, schools, residential developments, construction companies, restaurants and public or private outdoor spaces.
Where can I see examples of Elysee playground projects?
Browse our project references or review the project pages for Drenas, Kosovo, Mavrovo, North Macedonia and Bar, Montenegro. Each page describes its own project scope; the equipment and layout for a new site are assessed separately.
What should I send for a spare-part or maintenance enquiry?
Send the model code or order reference, the installation country and city, and photographs of the complete playground and the affected component. Include dimensions and the installation year if available. We review the equipment concerned before confirming compatible components, availability and transport.
