Wooden Playground Project – Bar, Montenegro

This outdoor playground project in Bar, Montenegro was developed around a large ship-themed wooden play structure for a recreational setting. The objective was to create a strong visual focal point while also providing several forms of movement and social play.

Project scope

  • Large ship-themed wooden playground structure
  • Two hammock-style play elements
  • Approximately 180 m² of rubber safety surfacing
  • Transport and on-site assembly coordination

Design and material approach

The ship-themed structure was selected as the central element of the play area, with complementary equipment positioned around it to create a complete outdoor activity zone. The equipment uses outdoor-grade timber, reinforced ropes, protected metal connections and components intended for long-term exterior use.

Safety and installation planning

Layout planning considers circulation, fall zones and impact-attenuating surfacing in line with EN 1176-oriented playground design practice. For coastal projects, material protection, anchoring and maintenance planning are also important because of sun, moisture and seasonal use.

Preparing a brief for another coastal venue

The ship structure, hammock-style elements and rubber surfacing in Bar form a project-specific package. For a new coastal location, mark the usable boundaries, pedestrian routes, seating and delivery access on a measured plan. Add photographs showing the ground and exposure to sea spray, wind and shade so these conditions can be considered during material and maintenance planning.

Our restaurant playground planning guide for Montenegro explains the information needed for a hospitality enquiry. Ask for transport, unloading, assembly, ground preparation and surfacing to be identified separately. The 180 m² of rubber surfacing in the Bar project is a reference quantity for that project; a new site’s surfacing area and specification must follow its own layout and equipment requirements.
